10281 - Bonsai Tree Botanical collection

 This is the first of my investments where have bought it but actually built it. This and the flower bouquet were both bought with the intention of building them for one simple reason. Our house seems to be very dark and any house plant rarely survives, so what better than having Lego flowers. The tree is now pride of place on a shelving unit, the flowers I have held back until I can find a Lego vase for them.

 The first of the free items, and although in a previous job I had a boss that never liked me to say free, it was something without charge, but in this instance it is easier to say free. But they do have a value, and according to Lego it is £3.49 so having made the purchase I did I got this for free/without charge.

10280 Flower bouquet - Botanical collection

 This was a purchase based on the fact that in our house no house plants seem to survive, as we are just not able to get enough light into the property. This set was bought along side the Bonsai Tree set, which I have built.

Once I had built the bonsai tree, I thought as nice as it is and without a Lego vase I thought the set would be better left in it's box for the time being. It also doesn't seem to have sold as many as the tree so could have it's own rarity value.

My very first investment - 21326 Winnie The Pooh Tree House

 This is the very first set which I have bought all thanks to our lass. One day whilst sat at our computers, our lass turned to me and informed me of a new set being sold by Lego, after a bit of research I could see people were selling the mini figures alone for 20 and 30 pounds. I was inline for a bonus from work, our lass gave the green light by saying "I work hard, so why not treat yourself". Next thing you know I have it ordered.

I was initially going to build it, then it came to mind that I have been looking for something to invest in, shares I know little about and you rely on to many factors beyond your control. Putting money in a bank leaves you wondering if you will ever see it again. This way if I am so inclined, I can take one of my investments and build it, get the enjoyment from doing so and although I would have lost a lot of its value I would still have something to sell on if I wanted to. As quoted above the mini figures alone have been taken from sets and selling for 20 or 30 pounds.

So this officially started it all.
